The MSDA presents a digitized excerpt from the archive of Dr. Mona Serageldin, founding member and Vice President (2005-2018) of I2UD.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MSDA Document Collection complements the research materials in the I2UD Digital Library, acknowledging the rich, cooperative work history linking I2UD and Serageldin’s collections.

Serageldin’s research has been internationally recognized for her contributions to urban studies. <\/strong> In 2018, Mona was posthumously awarded an UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour <\/strong>for promoting practical research-based approaches to address a broad spectrum of development challenges in a wide range of settings. The MSDA Document Collection contains:<\/strong> Reports, assessments, urban evaluations, academic and research materials, presentation slides and notes, and maps and graphics, spanning 1984 through 2013.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The MSDA Photograph Collection, digitized from 35mm film slides, comprises a photographic survey of urban housing around the globe from the 1970s through the 2000s.

I2UD presents ten pilot collections of Mona Serageldin’s photographs as digital galleries, consisting of around 6,500 digitized images, following her meticulous original organization system, which she used to cross-reference her career-long collection of teaching material, city case studies, essays, and photographic documentation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
