The Library connects a longitudinal record of planning practices with ongoing contextualization within the broader planning discourse, using I2UD&#8217;s broad base of textual and visual sources from its project history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Institute for International Urban Development (I2UD) is a not-for-profit institution dedicated to improving urban environments for vulnerable communities by providing research on spatial development issues, advisory services to city leaders, and urban planning education programs. The I2UD Digital Library supports and advances these aims by providing access to the rich urban planning documentation representing I2UD&#8217;s decades of research and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I2UD Main Site<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3>The Collections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library provides access to around <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?p=30374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">140 projects<\/a>, including digital copies of final reports, research and policy papers, presentations, and other supporting documents. The Library also displays a <a aria-label=\"collection of images (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?page_id=208678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">collection of images<\/a> documenting urban development conditions in over 13 countries, along with an even more extensive <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?page_id=221100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">collection of digitized 35mm film slides<\/a>, curated by former I2UD Vice President and renowned researcher Mona Serageldin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?p=30374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I2UD Document Collection<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?page_id=208678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I2UD Photograph Collection<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?page_id=221100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSDA Photograph Collection<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3>Study Guides<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A more recent initiative for the Institute is our <a href=\"http:\/\/library.i2ud.org\/library\/wp\/?page_id=216448\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"I2UD Digital Library Study Guides (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">I2UD Digital Library Study Guides<\/a> digital resources. The Library\u2019s curated Study Guides provide a resource for engaging critical urban issues in classrooms, conferences, and development projects. Collectively, these resources offer comprehensive practical documentation and essential materials for understanding both successful and unsuccessful urban development practices, shedding light on the evolving approaches in this field over decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first study guide on informal settlements encompasses a broad timeline of research, from early studies on the growth of informal settlements to recent initiatives in infrastructure upgrading, community development, and social inclusion.
