Overview

The following 8 galleries represent Mona Serageldin’s 35mm film slide collection on housing projects, as arranged in slide case M09, “ITP Housing Affordability Duplicates; Urban Fringes; Family and Development 1st Presentation,” consisting of color photographs and presentation slide graphics.

This selection of photographs documents a wide variety of housing contexts across the world, including informal settlements and new housing developments. Location primarily cover the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. Images in the collection were assembled for presentation in lectures and for use in I2UD’s executive training programs, among other projects. Themes for these projects include housing affordability, housing on the urban fringes, and urban development contexts for families. Images show housing overviews, exteriors, and interiors, as well as planning charts and maps.

Galleries 1 and 3 include photographs relating to I2UD’s International Training Programs.

Galleries 2, 5, and 7-8 represent housing project lectures and reports.

Galleries 4 and 6 cover urban fringes.
